Volunteer Leadership Team (VLT) Member

Volunteer Research & Publishing Assistant

Conduct research on topics related to community development, integration, language support, youth services, and social issues. Collect information from reputable sources to support funding applications, reports, and programme development. Summarise findings into clear formats for internal use or publication. Gather case studies, community insights, and programme outcomes where appropriate.

The Volunteer Research & Publishing Assistant supports Kafuti Trust by gathering information, producing written materials, and helping to develop high-quality content for reports, programmes, publications, and digital platforms. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing, researching, and contributing to community development through clear, accessible communication.

Fundraising Volunteer

Assist with planning and delivering fundraising initiatives. Support community fundraising events such as charity walks, cultural days, raffles, or awareness campaigns. Help promote fundraising activities through flyers, social media, and word of mouth. Encourage community members, supporters, and partners to take part in fundraising efforts.

Befriender Volunteer

Offer friendly conversation and companionship to individuals who may feel isolated or lonely. Build positive, trusting relationships through regular check-ins (in person or by phone). Encourage confidence, independence, and well-being.

Role Summary

The Befriender Volunteer provides emotional, social, and practical support to individuals in the community who may be isolated, new to the UK, or facing personal challenges. This role is ideal for a caring, patient, and reliable person who wants to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life through encouragement, companionship, and active listening.

Digital Skills Volunteer

Assist with teaching basic IT skills such as using a mouse, keyboard, and navigating a computer. Help learners use essential programmes (Word, email, browsers, online forms). Guide participants through using smartphones, apps, and communication tools like WhatsApp or Teams. Support community members to use online services (NHS, council websites, Universal Credit, booking systems)

The Digital Skills Volunteer supports community members to build essential digital abilities needed for everyday life in the UK. This role is ideal for someone who is confident using computers, smartphones, and online services, and who enjoys teaching others in a patient, friendly way. You will help deliver digital skills sessions, provide one-to-one support, and empower people to use technology independently and safely.

Campaign and Events Assistants (Volunteer)

Assist in planning community events such as cultural celebrations, workshops, open days, and awareness activities. Help organise event logistics, including venue preparation, equipment setup, and materials. Support with coordinating volunteers, participants, and guest speakers. Ensure events run smoothly by assisting with schedules, registration desks, and general support.

Volunteer Coordinator

Promote volunteering opportunities across the community and partner networks. Manage application processes, conduct informal interviews, and match volunteers to suitable roles. Deliver onboarding sessions, including introductions to Kafuti Trust’s mission, policies, and safeguarding practices. Maintain up-to-date volunteer role descriptions and recruitment materials.

Marketing & Communications Volunteer

Write and edit content for newsletters, social media, website updates, and printed flyers. Create clear and engaging messages to raise awareness of programmes, events, and opportunities. Help produce simple graphics using tools such as Canva (training provided). Collect stories, quotes, and photos (with permission) from participants and volunteers.

Role Summary

The Marketing & Communications Volunteer supports Kafuti Trust in promoting its programmes, sharing community impact, and strengthening the organisation’s visibility. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, organised, and enjoys writing, social media, and community storytelling. You will help develop engaging content, support publicity campaigns, and communicate the work and values of Kafuti Trust to the wider community.

Admin Volunteers

Help maintain accurate attendance records for ESOL, digital skills, youth mentoring, and community sessions. Update spreadsheets, volunteer logs, and programme databases (training provided). Assist with printing, filing, scanning, and organising programme documents. Prepare sign-in sheets, evaluation forms, and session materials. Help schedule appointments, sessions, and follow-up calls where needed.

The Admin Volunteer supports the smooth running of Kafuti Trust by assisting with essential administrative tasks across different programmes. This role is ideal for someone who is organised, reliable, and enjoys behind-the-scenes work that helps community services run effectively. Admin Volunteers play an important part in supporting language programmes, digital skills sessions, cultural orientation, community engagement, fundraising activities, and volunteer coordination.
